I've always been a fan of yours, love all your work. Your character in 'Frankie and Grace' makes the show for me! Anyway, I was delighted today to discover on Geni that you're a distant cousin of mine, 9th cousins. I know that's definitely not close kin but just happy to know we came from the same gene pool back up the line! 🙂

My Dearest Lily, I simply had to write to you, to let you know how deeply moved, I am at having watched yourself and your friend Jane Fonda in "Grace and Frankie". I am addicted to watching episode after episode and the series. I bless you for the depiction of heart, soul and emotion you have both portrayed, and the moments in life that are in each and everyone of us. I bless you for the portrayal of a fragile heart, I bless you for the portrayal of strength and energy that is also in the characterization. The "sisterhood" portrayed by yourself and Jane marks this series, as one of the most moving in cinema. Thank you for giving to us all. Ms Chrisse Feros

I remember the "Appearing Nightly" fundraiser for Bella Abzug at the Town Hall in 1977. It was an amazing night with an audience that felt bonded in our shared laughter and our belief in a better tomorrow.

Hi Lily! I've been in love with you since I was a kid (I'm 45 now) and I was absolutely over-the-moon way back when I discovered you were a lesbian!! You're my longest celebrity crush, and have been a role model and hero of mine for as long as I can remember. Since we've been stuck at home due to the pandemic, I decided to have some fun and dig around the web for old clips, random videos and interviews of you etc--and I've found quite a few! Of course Amazon's algorithms got wind of this and the book "Lily Tomlin: Woman of a Thousand Faces" was recommended to me while shopping. Whoo! I ordered it straight away. Last night I read the chapter that talked about the movie, "Moment By Moment." I hadn't seen or heard of it but I was super curious as the book talked about how it got a lot of negative press. I was able to find an archived video of it online and watched it today. I loved it and thought the role reversal was BRILLIANT! Maybe it was reviewed harshly because men were threatened by that? Well, fuck them. Ha! You've been incredible in everything I've ever seen you in!! Sorry this is so long (I can't help but turn all fan girl on you!) One other thing and then I'll go: I tried clicking on the DVD section on this site because I'd love to purchase any and all of your specials if they are available. I own all your movies but I'm having a hard time tracking down your specials and I'd LOVE to see them! I love you so much--thank you for being such an inspiring, powerful and amazing woman! XOXO Julie PS. If we're ever allowed to travel again, please come to Portland!!

Hi Lily! I wrote to Jane too but I just had to write to you personally. I am crazy about you, your tone, your humour, your battles, your political positions, your facial expressions, your rythme, and I love that you are playing a role showing how powerful friendship between women is with Grace & Frankie. My soulmate Myriam and I are 30-32 years old and we have been life partners for 6 years now even though we’re not lovers. We even got married! All our friends would tell us that no, it's not a good idea, friendship is not serious enough to get married, we've only met a few months ago. Well getting married was the best decision we ever made! Life is always warm and fun! Sure we're not "in love" like people hear it, but we really do love each other so very strongly, more than any conventional love story that we might have had. And believe me, Myriam loves A LOT of men in one year! Me not so much, I think if I was more attracted by sex I would be 80% lesbian, but the truth is I don't care much about love stories or sex. Heyyyy way out of track here! Anyway friendship between women should have a name in itself, and it makes me so happy to finally see a piece of art that shows how powerful it can be and how much live with you best friend is a choice of happiness. It should not be an alternative/underground model but an obvious option and I thank you from the heart for showing how wonderful it is. (Language is not my first language so please be kind reading.) I LOVE everything that you are, that you say, that you do. You're brilliant and beautiful and I love you.

Hi Lily, I wanted to get in touch with you to invite you to support the Physicians Committee’s efforts in stopping cruel and senseless dog experiments happening at your alma mater, Wayne State University. You worked with us on this campaign before, and we are so grateful for that! We are now working with state legislators, and have helped introduce bills in both the Assembly and the Senate that could stop these experiments. We need to rally the public so that a) they know that these experiments are happening, b) that Wayne State is using taxpayers’ money to fund them, and c) that there are bills that could put an end to this unfortunate situation ! Will you join our campaign? Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions about the bills, the experiments, or anything at all. Kindly, Reina Pohl

I cannot thank you and the divine Jane Fonda for Grace and Frankie! I have been so sad over the cultural depravity that would allow a much loved America to turn on itself. Just wanted you to know that I have turned to your show over and over again and it’s like going home. I have watched episodes over many times. Each time I see a different detail and I think how everyone involved with G and F were all artists Such perfection. The clothing....OMG!! Thanks again happy you have given me this special place to go that allows me to join this gorgeous quirky family to be mine. You are a very special creature Lilly Tomlin. I love who you are. Warmest Regards Stay well. Gloria Fox

Hi Lily! I wrote to you via Instagram, but am willing to follow up anywhere 🙂 I have a business to halt the environmental crisis of ocean plastic. I was motivated to start this business based on a quote from you, "I always wondered why somebody doesn't do something about that. Then I realized I was somebody." I would love to speak to someone (even just email) about using this quote on some marketing materials as I believe it will empower others to act, as it has me. I hope to hear from someone!
